System Center Advisor: Configure Change Tracking

Another brick in the wall for System Center Advisor, the Cloud solution provided by Microsoft for monitoring and auditing your environment. Few days ago was released a new Intelligent Pack called Change Tracking. What it do? These are the actual object that we can monitor:

  • Software changes
  • Windows Service changes
  • Application Workload changes

So for example if an external consultant wants know when “the IT ghost” has installed a particular application, he can do with Advisor. To deploy this new IP is necessary select it from home page of System Center Advisor, as showed in figure 1.

A requirement of this Intelligent Pack is the integration with System Center Operations Manager, so if you have already SCOM and you have also enabled the integration with Advisor you must just select for which servers extend monitoring. After few hours it will be possible see the changes of the machines, as showed in figure 2.
